MAS Will You Ever Soar Again

As I walk through the connecting bridge and enter the 737-800NG that will be flying me from KUL to Saigon, I can't help but to notice that the cabin is old and lacking of maintenance, the leather on the arm rest has worn down, the trays seems to be flimsy and does not tuck in tightly. The carpet looks dirty, the plane has probably just landed but it isn't an excuse for not making it glow for the next batch of passenger.

It was hardly a full flight, at best 30% of passenger only with many empty seats. The in flight entertainment isn't the best either, with limited choices and outdated in flight entertainment system that are hard to toggle, you would realize immediately if you have flew on multiple different airlines over the years.

Is a sad thing to see, I used to be very happy with MAS and would gladly fly with them without a single thought, but now I have my doubts. If you can't keep your cabin well maintained, I'm having a second thought if they actually cut corners in their plane maintenance.

The in-flight meal is poor, the gravy leak out from the foil and contaminated the box. They have now turn to Eco-friendly cutlery but it isn't user friendly, the utensils felt light and easily break, the wooden knife just wouldn't work well. The food tasted plain, the carrot isn't well cook and it felt tough, and I couldn't really tell what exactly I was eating, the whole presentation with the paper box does not look pleasant at all, and the cake looks cheap. A big let down.

MAS, will you ever soar again?
